The Halloween season started with the traditional pumpkin carving. They boys were in a “bigger is better” mindset this year, and both chose large pumpkins – which meant a long of pulp to clean out! They both went with vampire-themed pumpkins. Unfortunately, the rabbits in the neighborhood figured out that carved pumpkins were essentially an open dinner invitation. All of the jack-o-lanterns had their faces eaten out before Halloween night!

We had an absolutely perfect evening for trick or treating. Evan went as Batman, and oh, did he get into the part! He had a utility belt, stocked with grappling hooks and “bat-a-marangs”. Alex dressed as Peter Pan. He looked really cute in his costume. Unfortunately, most people guessed he was Robin Hood, which by the end of the evening had been translated to just “Robin”, and someone even thought they were out together as Batman and Robin! Eventually the thought of filling up the pumpkins with candy overwhelmed any concern about who they were supposed to be. They both came home with an easy 3 pounds in candy – enough to keep our house on a sugar high through the Spring…

  1. I love both of the outfits, Evan’s muscles, and Alex’ really does look like a young Peter Pan/Robin Hood. Glad they had fun. Love Grandma Dani

  2. Boys, we think you both looked great in your costumes and would have made both Batman and Robin Hood proud!! Enjoy your candy, try not eat too much at one time! Love to all, Grandma Judy and Grandpa Gary.
