We took our first camping trip of the year this weekend. We went to the Collegiate Peaks campground near Cottonwood Pass, west of Buena Vista. It was a pretty campground, with lots of trees and a stream running nearby, though the sites were a little cramped for our taste.
The big adventure was that we broke out the new kayak on Cottonwood Lake. It’s a two man inflatable, and it is unbelievably stable. Even with an adult in back and a child in front, it rides nice and even. I took the boys out for a couple of spins around the lake. We’ll be looking forward to more water time in the future.
