Grandpa Dave and Grandma Kathy came for a visit this past weekend. We had some beautiful spring weather. As all weekend trips do, it went by too quickly. We went to the park to feed the ducks and tried some kite flying. The wind wasn’t very cooperative, but Grandpa Dave managed to get a kite up and give Evan some “string time”.

On Sunday, we road the Pike’s Peak Cog Railroad. That was a first for all of us. The boys enjoyed riding the train, and the grown-ups enjoyed some beautiful scenery. It was pretty chilly at the top, although not bad at all for April. On the way back down the mountain, the train passed right by a herd of big horn sheep. The conductor announced that she had never seen them so close to the tracks. When asked, she admitted she had only been on the job for 4 days. I guess it’s still something.

Here are a few sample pictures from the weekend.

  1. What a great time we had with Lara, Chris and the boys! From watching “Peter Pan” on the large flat screen TV in their new family room to scootering with the boys around the block to chugging up Pikes Peak on a cog-wheel train, our visit was full of fun and adventure. We can’t wait to see them all again!
