With two boys, we knew it was a matter of when, and not if, but I guess it still takes you by surprise. We went to a friend’s house tonight for a party to celebrate her completing her master’s program. Within 5 minutes of walking in the door, Alex had climbed onto the trampoline, tripped, and fell face-first on one of the springs. The result was a gash in his forehead. We knew it was going to take more than a band-aid, so off we went to the emergency room.
Luckily, the doctor was able to close it up with glue, so Alex didn’t have to go through the stitch routine – yet. He seems fine now, but we do expect some swelling and discomfort tomorrow. So much for our planned trip to the pool. I guess we’ll have to find another way to cool off on a mid-90’s summer day. Anyway, we thought people would want to hear the news.

19 Jun 2012OUCH!!!!!! But it looks like Alex was a brave lad in the ER — scoffing at his wound with a smile, no less. He’s tougher than those cute looks suggest! Love that guy . . . and his big brother too!

The above words are from my childhood doctor, made after his son escorted be in the back door of his clinic… won’t soon forget the day, nor I suspect, will Alex!
