Welcome! We set up Наша Семья (Nash’-a Syem-ya’ = “Our Family” in Russian) to share our little story with our friends and family. It starts in June of 2003 with our wedding and honeymoon. Shortly afterwards, we decided to grow our family with the adoption of a Golden Retriever puppy named Bacchus. In 2010, we began the process of adopting two children from Russia, hence the Russian blog title.
We primarily used this site to document our adoption journey. It has turned out to be such a big hit with our friends and family that we now plan to continue providing occasional updates on our adventures and progress adapting to family life.

You will receive an email when your account has been activated. International adoption is a sensitive issue, so we’ll be controlling who is allowed to sign up for accounts fairly strictly. If we don’t recognize your email address, we probably won’t grant you access unless you contact us and help us understand your interest in our site.
